CaliSoxFanViaSWside
After last night's debacle the Sox probably weren't looking forward to tonight's game which would be a bullpen game. But 8 pitchers later the Sox held the Twins to just 3 hits and came away with a 3-1 victory. Eloy Jimenez went 2/3 with an RBI to extend his hitting streak to 10 games. Most of us probably don't realize it but basically Eloy has been extremely good since June. The problem is he was injured for most of July and when August started he was rusty but finished strong and his September has been red hot. Next year we will see the real Eloy if he can stay healthy. Moncada has also been red hot for a while. He went 2/4 with 2 doubles and an RBI. and is hitting .431 in September. Zack Collins continues to show he can be a force from the left side lately with his 2nd HR in 2 days. He is starting to get more comfortable and has a modest 4 game hitting streak which is great considering his 6 games before this he went hitless. Even though most are aware his catching is suspect, he has to be given some credit for handling 8 different pitchers who held the Twins to just 3 hits and 1 run. If Zack can be guy who continues to get on base and hit for power he is a huge key to the Sox ascending . He might not ever get that chance if the Sox decide someone like Grandal would be a worthy Free Agent but catching probably will be behind a few other positions as far as need goes. Tim Anderson went1/4 in his pursuit of a batting title and is hitting a robust .400 in September.
Sarava
Moncada has struck out 6 times in the last 2 games, and his average has still gone up. Great season for him.

Smart move by Ricky.
bubba phillips
Two replies after a greatly unexpected win? Apparently the tankers have taken over this board. Too bad for you guys. Sox win!!! Sox win!!!
tray
September Collins can catch up to an occasional mistake pitch and lay on it for a home run, and have games where he does not commit an error. However, September games that are meaningless to both teams are not the best way to assess talent and gauge future performance. Let's see him block pitches, throw out runners, and call several games against teams that are vying for a playoff spot. Unfortunately, we don't have many games left on the schedule to do that. The Sox wasted too much time with Castillo on the roster.

Great season for him. He's up to 17th in fWAR, right behind Devers and LeMahieu. Most of the guys in the top 20 have played at least 20 more games than Yoan. Impressive season to say the least. @bubba phillips was a late night win. I saw it just as I was headed to bed on the west coast last night. Well in fairness there is not much interest in winning anything besides a higher draft pick and I did start the thread very late when I am sure most were in bed but since I'm in California i am 2 hours earlier then Chicago. GermanSoxFan
Don‘t look now but Collins has a higher OPS than Matt Skole even with a BA below his weight. #stud

I have no idea what the Sox should do with Collins and Jose and 1B and any FA.
bubba phillips
If you didn't know the White Sox record and I told you they had the following players in the AL: # 1 and #5 hitters in Batting Average # 1 in RBI #6 in starters' ERA #5 in saves Would you believe that this a team that is 20 games below .500? That's what happens when most of your draft picks flail, you don't get any success or spend your money in International Free Agency while you also trade it away when you should be trading for it.., you keep employees without a track record of success employed. you have no presence in Japan or the Dominican Republic, you haven't spent what's necessary in player development be it high speed cameras or adding an extra minor league team. You haven't found one diamond in the rough since the rebuild started with the possible exception of McCann and that's not guaranteed despite cycling through a bunch of AAA fodder and you completely whiff not only on Machado but anyone else who could 've brought some depth to the organization but instead spend it on Yonder Alonso, John Jay and to a lesser extent Nova who frankly did about what the Sox expected from him. The amount of flotsam and jetsam on the 40 is astounding for a team that might be looking to compete next year. or 2021 and it will take a minor miracle the kind which Hahn has never pulled off in his entire career as GM to achieve. If either of them stumbles, you hope Gavin Sheets or Andrew Vaughn get through Charlotte quick.

I haven't seen those words in print since the 60's when Jerome Holtzman was a Chicago sportswriter. Nice.
