Didn't Cease have a hammer curve he threw more in the past?

He'll still throw it occasionally. Someone mentioned that he's throwing the slider more now in place of the curve. Probably Fathom since because he hates Cooper and thinks that's a Cooper trait since Gio also had a curve and ditched it for slider /changeup as Cease is now doing. Perhaps if this is a coop trait then it might be because the curve and fastball are 2 radically different pitches and for guy who need to improve command, especially fastball command ,that the slider is more like a fastball and they play off each other better since a slider looks like a fastball until it breaks.

Once you establish fastball command the curve might be more of a weapon like Verlander basically uses fastball slider curve changeup.

Like three weeks ago I said Eloy was a slight disappointment this season, I expected more. I tend to be fairly rational and should have waited until the season was over to make a statement like that, because the last few weeks have been phenomenal, and given the injuries and just MLB learning curve, his 2019 numbers have been pretty impressive when you take a step back. Can’t wait until 2020

I think most of us where in that boat with you (slight disappointment.)  He has come out of it nicely though.  On the plus side...his defense has been better than advertised.
