2019 World Series

Should be some great pitching matchups this series.

Cole and Strasburg auditioning for all of MLB...all things considered, that Houston lineup is just too deep.

Osuna has scuffled for sure, but the Nats are relying on Daniel Hudson as their closer.

One can only hope another Astros’ World Series win forces more front offices to adapt to the changing times.

The Rays are already there (arguably even better than the Stros) but they don't have the payroll/spend like Houston does too.

And in the center of the room, assistant general manager Brandon Taubman turned to a group of three female reporters, including one wearing a purple domestic-violence awareness bracelet, and yelled, half a dozen times, “Thank God we got Osuna! I’m so f------ glad we got Osuna!”

Astros declined comment until after the story was published, then commented saying the story was fabricated. Now it's being backed up by other reporters who were in the room.

Go Nats.

It was very disappointing when the Sox traded for Brett Myers too. It’s hard to root for scum.

I wish the Sox had a policy going forward- any domestic abuse or PED suspensions while in the union, we’re not acquiring you. If it happens under our watch, we’ll deal with it on a case by case basis. But if it happens in a different uniform, you’re never going to be our problem.

Amazing what having bad PR people can do to a story. If they would have come out strong the first time, this goes away semi quickly. But they continued to fumble the ball, and got away from them quick. Idiots.

Or just say "we're investigating" and take a day or two to confirm it happened or not.

But nope. Made the easiest story in the world to verify a nightmare.

Really thought with the long layoff that the Astros were going to take it to them....but Cole and Verlander have been so good for so long (I think Cole had a stretch of dominance dating back until May) that you could just start to feel the stuff hasn't been as crisp with Justin the last 2-3 times out.  Not surprising with that many miles on his arm.  Heck, 4-5 years ago...it looked like his career was trending in the same direction as King Felix in Seattle, and that his Tigers' contract was basically unmovable.

Cole looked fine physically, he was just missing with his locations.

The beginning of the end for the Astros started last weekend with the Taubman incident. Karma is a b****. Houston has $150M committed to payroll next season and that doesn’t even include arb eligible players like Correa or resigning Cole. They have big money tied up in Grienke and Verlander for several years, both of whom could hit a Lester wall at any moment.
