caulfield12
Waiting for another Dickerson "puff piece." In all seriousness, I'm not sure it really matters all that much if we miss on Wheeler and don't sign AT LEAST one of the 4-5 hitters (Grandal/Gregorious/Moustakas/Castellanos/Ozuna) that are closer to their "normal/predictable" Sox price range. I'm not sure how his contract situation works with a trade - would we have to tender him a contract first before we trade him, or can we trade him first and let the other team pay the arb price? Does he even have value as a trade piece (not as a headliner but a sweetener)? Sox could trade him before non tender deadline. Or tender him a contract and trade him after. Problem is, at his projected arb price, he has no trade value.

When Ricketts wants something, he usually gets it because he is flush with Ameritrade money and is willing to spend whatever it takes. You don't want to get into a bidding war with someone that has more money than brains.

Their budget and spending is based on how much money the cubs earn.

Orlando
I think he’s destined to be a White Sox player. That accidental tweet by Gregor solidifies it.
