New ESPN article had the payroll projected at $130 million.

The last couple of days, have seen numbers at this site around low $90s....putting us closer to $110ish with Keuchel?

Where’s that payroll tool we used to have pinned?

https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/chicago-white-sox/payroll/#

This has us closer to $82.5 million...

I believe we were in the low 90’s before Gio and Keuchel. So we should be right around 115 now.

That 82.5 on spotrac is only 12 guys, and it has all the young guys at 0....filling the roster to 26 will add a decent chunk of $

Just did the math, were at $108M for 2020. Should have about $40M off the books for 2021 in Colome, McCann, Herrera, Leury, Gio Gonzalez and Mazara. Just going to assume Mazara is a non tender until he proves otherwise.

Even with Gio, Moncada and Lopez entering arb in 21, there should be plenty of payroll space for the final long term piece in RF.

I’d wager that Herrera’s 2021 option becomes guaranteed.  He just needs 55 appearances next for that to happen (for reference he had 57 last year despite battling injuries).

They might purposely use him less next year to avoid it becoming guaranteed. It might actually be beneficial for both sides because using him less would probably keep him healthier.

Sure, but the dude averaged nearly 70 appearances from 2015 to 2018.  If he returns back to form or is even the guy we saw in September, Ricky will be using him a ton.
