bschmaranz
People getting ready to bash Hahn here, MadBum was pretty clear on wanting to remain in the NL.
fathom
This is horrible for the Sox. Angels will almost definitely get Ryu or Keuchel.

Yeah he wanted to still be able to bat so I can’t blame him. Looks like it’s down to Keuchel and Ryu as the ones left

CWSpalehoseCWS
I didn't see MadBum leaving the NL, so I'm not surprised with this or disappointed. Sox really need to do something though. They cannot allow Covey to see a major league mound in 2020.

He’s two years older than Bumgarner with injury concerns. But if this is Bumgarner’s price, the Sox have no excuses not to land either Ryu or Keuchel. They won’t get paid nearly as much as 5/$85 million. Edited December 15, 2019 by Moan4Yoan

Lillian
I'm beginning to suspect that Hahn has a deal in place with Bloom. Otherwise, it does appear that they aren't getting anything, other than a bottom of the rotation starter. It also wouldn't surprise me if they bring back Nova, who had expressed a strong desire to return. Orlando
This lowers David Price’s price in my opinion. Probably helps with Kuechel and Ryu’s contract for interested teams. If MadBum gets 5/85 with 15 mil differed I can’t see Price being too expensive to trade for

Wheeler got $33 million more, and it’s no sure thing that he is better than Bumgarner.
bachy
The Sox would have had to go over $100 million to even get Bumgarner to consider signing.
Orlando
I would be shocked if the Sox land either Ryu or Kuechel. Hahn is going to have to get creative
CWSpalehoseCWS
This is interesting, but I think he's trying too hard. Could the Sox maybe pull a trade and then try to extend Ray? bachy
This team is seriously going to sign zero of the 1st/2nd tier pitchers on the FA market and more than likely trade assets for a pitcher. S.S.D.D. Or they could go even cheaper and just choose to run with their current rotation and pray for the best. We seriously might see Dylan Covey in the rotation again. Fuck Jerry.
