Curious to see how Burr rebounds. Had pretty high hopes for him....

(of course that's the ASU homer in me).

The raw numbers don't show it (since it was such a small sample size) but he looked pretty good in MLB last year prior to the TJS. I still think he has a future with us

Dylan Covey says, “You will never get rid of me!!!”

White Sox sent RHP Dylan Covey outright to Triple-A Charlotte.

I see on MLBTR that it’s still up in the air whether he’ll choose free agency rather than accept the outright.

I assumed this meant that Covey accepted the outright assignment.

"If a player has more than three years of Major League service time or was previously outrighted in his career (by his current club or another club), he is eligible to reject the outright assignment and instead opt for free agency."

Covey was outright back in 2018, so he can reject the assignment.

Ah, you’re right.  They initially DFA’ed him and then outrighted him to Charlotte but he can still elect to become a free agent instead.

I believe that is wrong. When has Covey been previously Outrighted?

edit: sounds like maybe he was in 2018, don’t recall that.
