In a worst case scenario (like the Mariners are potentially facing) they will just play in front of no fans . Mariners will have a hard call in a few weeks if the virus is burning through Seattle. It's ground zero here in the US and I can say from just walking around this and driving this weekend business is getting hammered. Mine included. Just trying to do everything possible to help arrest the spread. Seattle is being proactive we'll see if other cities are as well. That would be a huge competetive advantage for the Rays and marlins since they are used to play in front of no fans. Sorry that pun was too easy:). Chicago White Sox
12 hours ago, HeHatesShe said: My wet dreams still consist of some combination of Tyler Johnson, Ian Hamilton, and Zach Burdi in the 7th, 8th, and 9th. In all honestly, the Sox should have most of the core position & rotation guys already in place and cost controlled. Right now, I’d say RF & closer are our two biggest potential needs going forward. It’s very possible Bummer or one of the young RH relievers could handle the closer role, but if we have the money why not add an elite guy to anchor the pen next offseason and move everyone down a spot? I’d rather ease in guys like Burdi, Heuer, Johnson, & Hamilton and keep Bummer in a setup role if at all possible.
wegner
A few years back, while I was listening to a White Sox Weekly broadcast, I heard one of the national baseball "experts" (sorry, I do not remember who it was) and he predicted that the closer for the White Sox when they were ready to contend would be Carson Fulmer. That was at a time when Carson was still considered by people as a future starter. I do root for Carson since by all accounts I have seen he was initially upset about being moved to the bullpen but quickly acclimated to doing whatever it takes to succeed in the bullpen. With his stuff, he could be a possible closer down the road...if he can throw strikes!!
