Capital G
Not WS related but something to discuss since he was a huge part of our team for years. Sucks to hear. I really hope he comes back strong. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/28927717/red-sox-chris-sale-undergo-tommy-john-surgery

The reports of him throwing harder in Boston than in Chicago seem to have have played a role as well. Some of the articles stating how Boston was going to restrict his innings and change his approach this year were a little too late.

greg775
Sale is one of those guys like Verlander who don't like to come out of games. He's 30 and now needs the surgery. Most guys seem to get the surgery before 30 nowadays so he had a good run.
chetkincaid
Well I guess now is as good a time to have TJS as any. Some are doubting if there will even be a season this year.

Texsox
It's not a shock to anyone, including his coaches and Sale. The question is - was it worth it? If there was some sort of a formula that could be calculated how would this score? 5% less effective (innings, stats) for one more season without surgery? 15% for one more season? elrockinMT
You hate to see any player get injured. Sale though is a special guy ad slways enjoyed his spirit. Hope he recovers soon but I alwats wondered about his arm and he was on the shelf here a time or two with soreness,
