2Deep
I came across this article of a leaked Cubs schedule and it shows the White Sox/Cubs playing 6 times with uneven schedules. I thought it was only suppose to be 4 games each against NL central? https://www.cubsinsider.com/2020/07/06/cubs-2020-schedule-revealed-season-opens-against-brewers-at-wrigley-features-very-uneven-divisional-splits/
Y2Jimmy0
Nope. It's 6 regionals vs Cubs and 14 vs the other 4 teams.
flavum
Definitely not the 10 vs division opponents and 4 vs opposite division opponents. It’ll be a mix of 9 to 11 in the division, over 3 series; and 3, 4, or 6 games vs the NL Central.
Ducksnort
Um...is Cleveland really changing their name to the spiders?

But I doubt any name change is coming any time soon. It's got to be quite the undertaking. Edited July 6, 2020 by hogan873
Jose Abreu
Another interesting thing to note is the balance of home/road games. Instead of playing 5 home games and 5 road games against divisional opponents, the Cubs play 3/7 3/7 and 7/3 7/3. With our luck, the Sox will have to play 7 times in Minnesota and Cleveland. Hopefully vs the Indians/Twins it’s three series, home and away; and same with Royals/Tigers.

No fans will be at the games anyway. So the great crowds in Minny and Cleveland are neutralized in this scenario.

flavum
Saw a different version of the Cubs schedule...and it does look like 10 vs the four division teams. Either 7 home/3 away, or the reverse. So yeah, it better not be 14 road games vs the Twins and Indians. The Cubs have 14 home vs Cardinals and Brewers, and 14 road vs Reds and Pirates. I would prefer this schedule if it evens out next year, which it should. Off topic, what is the status of the Twins 2and best pitcher Michael Pineda? Will he have to miss nearly this entire season since it is only 60 games?

His suspension is prorated for the shortened season. So he'll miss the first 39 games.
raBBit
On that some note though, the Twins get Rich Hill for the full year when he would've been injured for the first few months. Much like our deal with Rodon.

That means he will probably start 4 games this year. Rich Hill coming back will help them big time, but us getting a potential full year of Kopech (hopefully) and Rodon is just as good. wegner
The leaked Cubs schedule shows the Cubs playing the Sox the last 3 games of the regular season. How great will that series be if both teams are in the playoff hunt!!! ?

SoxBlanco
Love that we end the season against the Cubs. If one or both are in the hunt for the playoffs, those games will be crazy.
