soxfan420
1)Ivan Rodriguez-Catcher age 31 Injury has plagued him the past couple of years. Only playing in 102 games last season. His deffense has slipped and he will never win a gold glove again. His bat is still one of the best in the game for catchers hitting .314, hitting 19 homeruns with 60 rbi's and an obp of .353. 2)Kenny Rogers-Pitcher age 38 One of the few pitchers on the market that are still good. He is a innings eater pitching 210.2 innings last season going 13-8 with and era of 3.84. Making him a solid #2-3 pitcher. 3)Chuck Finley-Pitcher age 40 With age starting to scare most teams away. He has shown no signs of his age. He is still a # 3-4 pitcher throwing 190.2 innings last year. which still makes him an inning eater. last year he posted an era of 4.15 going 11-15 last year goin 4-11 with the Indians with there terrible offense, and going 7-4 with the Cardinals. 4)Robert Person-Pitcher age 33 Another injury plagued player. He is well worth the gamble. He still throws in the mid-high 90's. With the abilty to throw hard in late innings. He only threw 87.2 innings last year going 4-5 with a really high era of 5.44. He Would make a great #2-3 guy if he can stay healthy. 5)Orlando Palmeiro-OF age 33 Played in 110 games last season with the abilty to play all outfield postions he has a cannon for an arm. With his slap hitting ability he batted .300, with 0 homeruns, 31 rbis's, and an obp of .368 6)Omar Daal-pitcher-signed age 30 He would be a great #4-5 pitcher throwing only 161.1 innings last year, but going 11-9 with an era of 3.90. 7)Greg Colbrunn-1b-signed age 33 Has did not play everyday last year only playing in 72 games. His Batting average of .333 hitting 10 homeruns with 27 rbi's. With an obp of .378. Earns him a shot at playing everyday. 8)Jose Hernandez-shortstop age 33 I know he is the strike out king, but he does have a good bat. hitting .288 with 24 homeruns with 73 rbis. his obp helps make up for his high strike out count with a .356. 9)Todd Hollandsworth-OF-signed age 29 Played in 134 games last year. He batted .284 hitting 16 home runs batting in 67 with an obp of .344. If he can stay healthy he should be a quality outfielder. 10)Jon Lieber-pitcher age 32 Underwent reconstructive elbow surgery in early August and won't be able to pitch until July at the earliest. Last year he went 6-8 with a 3.70 era. He wont be worth anything this season. But when you are this good you have to be somewhere on the list. Let me know what you guys think. and maybe post yours has the pickings get even worse and the sox yet to sign anybody

Chisoxfn
Originally posted by soxfan420i would not want suppan anyway Their are quite a few guys on that list that I'd rather have over Suppan. Namely, Rogers, Daal, Valdes, etc..
Chisoxfn
Originally posted by Jim FainterFlash Gordon would help us big time. That would be a sweet pickup, if he came for like 500k. I know, we don't really need help in the pen, but man, if we are going to go with our current 5 man rotation, then we might as well have as many good arms as we can down their. Flash, Osuna, Marte, Koch, Glover, Wunsch would be damn good and very deep.

Flash, Osuna, Marte, Koch, Glover, Wunsch would be damn good and very deep. We will don't need two guys like Osuna and Gordon in our pen....both are similar pitchers....I'd rather have Biddle than either one of those, just because he mixes things up a bit....brings in some nasty ass s*** instead of just fastball and the occasional breaking ball. If we could get rid of Osuna, I wouldn't mind it....Osuna will make around $2.5 mill next year or so, and if you are closing, you shouldn't be making more than $2 million(unless you play for a team that has a payroll of over $100 mill, cuz we sure as hell know JR ain't dishing out even $60 mill). IMO, a bullpen of Gordon/Osuna, Biddle, Glover, Marte, Wunsch and Koch is better than Gordon, Osuna, Glover, Marte, Wunsch and Koch.
