caulfield12
https://www.fangraphs.com/standings/playoff-odds Bunched up together and within 0.4% of the Rays (for 5th), but also just on top of the Indians now. Interestingly, White Sox barely ahead to make playoffs, but slightly behind CLE to actually win WC. Angels/Blue Jays/Red Sox would be fighting for final, 8th position. Dodgers, Cubs, Braves, Padres Top 4 for the moment in the NL. Edited August 5, 2020 by caulfield12

wegner
I am very interested to see how the Sox match up against the Twins when they play them at the end of this month and middle of September. If the Sox bullpen stays strong, it could be a whole new ballgame.

Maybe we can get a solid guy for a wannabe prospect since it isn't a real season.
caulfield12
As a fanbase, the high water mark since Tuesday, May 10th, 2016. At 23-10, about to lose 13-11 to the Rangers, and eventually trade James Shields for Erik Johnson and Fernando Tatis, Jr. By Saturday, May 28th, the lead in the division would be lost for good. Three years and four months of terrible White Sox baseball/rebuilding would follow.

But yeah, that's definitely a MINEFIELD after their first two starters. Dobnak has been surprisingly resilient, and Smeltzer's a classic #5/swingman guy. Bailey was cast adrift by the KC Royals of all teams. JHOULYS CHACIN is one of MANY starters that Rick Hahn should be looking at, released by Twins this summer but Opening Day starter for Milwaukee as recently as a year or two ago. wegner
Indian's starting pitching is very good but will they score enough runs? It would be nice if the Sox can hold them off and grab one of the 2 division spots instead of fighting for the Wild Card.
