TheTruth05
Loser mentality is a bad plan for a franchise that loses so much Just now, fathom said: He was planning on Anderson going 3 or 4 innings....what a joke https://mobile.twitter.com/southsidehitpen/status/1292213745930969089

The plan was flawed before game even started. Not saying Ricky makes no mistakes but with the sox lack of SP depth and lack of ability of those starters to go deep (only keuchel and giolito really can go 6+) you can't always use a quick hook and ride your pen aces hard or you will burn out the pen. Ricky thus needs to sometimes leave in a struggling starter or put in a bad reliever and hope they make it through the inning in order to manage the workload. Yeah that will cost games but due to injuries the situation is as it is. If the sox had 5 durable starters and a deep pen they could use a quick hook and still be fine but with the sox situation you always have to be ready for 2 3 inning starts in a row so you can't always pull the trigger and sometimes you need to leave a struggling pitcher in with bases loaded and hope somebody hits into a double play. that isn't ideal but it is the way it is currently. Orlando
The team is just tired. So naturally Moncada or Grandal will sit tomorrow but that young, fresh rookie Abreu will be in tomorrow against Bieber

Anderson’s not a prospect. We cannot afford to waste opportunities at key wins developing AAAA pitchers who are not even a part of the future...while demoralizing the entire team in the process. It’s exactly the type of comment a minor league manager would make to the GM. Trust what your eyes are seeing, not written reports. Against one of the teams in your own division, competing for a playoff spot, at home. The way the CLE offense was going until Anderson was inserted into the game, it was quite possible CLE was going to be shut down again. They had gone something like 25 consecutive innings without scoring off Sox pitching, for what it's worth. Could easily have been White Sox at +3 and Indians at E, instead of White Sox at +1 and Indians at +2. Two game swing.

It's a win or a loss. Odds are anytime you have a bullpen day it's going to be a loss. The offense needs to help at least a little.

Considering they're facing the likely Cy Young winner tomorrow night, that game had added importance. But yeah, if they're going to hit 0.050-0.075 all season with RISP, they're not going to be going anywhere, let alone the playoffs.

tray
In the past few games Robert looked like he could not recognize spin and location early enough to make contact. Pitchers are getting him out too easy on sinkers away and high fastballs....almost all thrown out of the strike zone.
