White Sox vs Indians 8/9 game thread Sunday Night Baseball

Recommended Posts

Not playing Robert tonight is one of the myriad reasons baseball is struggling to fend off the NBA for second place in the world of professional sports.

Giannis vs. Doncic is celebrated around the world as a match-up that defines the future of basketball, whereas Luis Robert has yet to make a name for himself outside of the Chicagoland area because he plays for a "second tier" franchise.

In the NBA, if you're a future star, say, like Ja Morant or Tray Young, no matter what team you play for...you'll be discovered, embraced, celebrated.    Whereas MLB increasingly becomes a regionalized sport.

That said, watching baseball games in the Covid-19 format isn't as bad as other sports like football and basketball that are even more fan-participation centered.

We don’t know yet.   Idle Speculation.   Guessing he probably does, but considering how tough Bieber is and that Robert’s picked up his strikeout pace pretty dramatically the past 3-5 games, it wouldn’t be a total shock to see Engel in CF and Mazara in right.

Hopefully, Ricky will come up with a line up that pisses most of the board off. Seems they score a lot of runs when that happens, and not too many when the line up is actually liked.

Too true.

Congrats to Eddy Alvarez of the Marlins.

First big league knock off the best in baseball, Jacob de Grom.

Smashed a 3-2 fastball to the opposite field on the ground, snared by Davis of the Mets to prevent his first RBI.  Couldn’t get up and make the throw, had to eat it.

Now 1/10.

Ricky's love for batting veterans high in the order is baffling. I understand that most managers do it to an extent, but Ricky lives and dies by that shit. He will even break his adoration for the R/L lineup alteration for veteran lineup privileged. Right here we have S/S/S/R/R/L/R/R/R. Ricky should just bat Eloy 3rd and Abreu 5th. Also, James McCann has been one of the best hitters on the team this year. Maybe he should bat higher than 8th for now.
