I have to say yes. Even though he is a Cubs fan, this man may have to go through his entire life believing he cost the team he loves the shot at the World Series. We all love the sox and I'm sure none of us would want to be held accountable for something bad to happen to him. I mean the guy is about 5 foot 5 110 pounds with his headphones and glasses and whatnot. His name is all over, where le lives and works, front page of newspapers and websites accross the nation. Kinda have to fell sorry for him, as it really wasnt his fault. On the other hand you can say screw him hes a cubs fan, but i do feel somewhat sorry for him. My 2 cents.

No. He's a goddamn hero for one and his mishap HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT HAPPENED AFTERWARDS IN THAT GAME!!!!! If the Cubs were that mentally weak, then it's a miracle they made it that far.

Well then you should feel sorry for him. You said his actions had nothing to do with the outcome of the game, and I agree, but he's being blamed for the Cubs not being in the WS, and as a result, his life is legitimately in danger. IMO that's worthy of feeling sorry for him, but that's just my opinion.

I feel sorry cuz he has no friends.  He destroyed the 2003 season so Cub fans will hate him.  Sox fans like what he did but won't embrace him since he still remains a Cub fan.  At the end he should just move to Florida or something.

He's the Man Without A Team!

I feel bad for him. Imagine going to a ballgame and thinking, Gee tomorrow I have to issue a PRESS RELEASE!

I feel sorry he's a die hard fan of a team who's fans are too stupid to know that Gonzo's error cost them a trip to a WS. Not a stupid curse or something that happened to a foul ball off the field.

I feel bad his name, house, friends, relatives, and neighbors are all over the media.

Lucky dude though and kudos to Jeb Bush for offering asylum in Florida. That rocked

I don't feel sorry for him because I think he did nothing wrong. I also don't feel sorry for him because he was at an NLCS game with headphones on - normally they are no big deal, but in a game of that magnitude, shouldn't you want to have your ears open to taken in the whole thing? Maybe I am just weird...okay, I am weird, but I hope the point gets across.

Is this a continuation of the goat curse or will Cub fans now begin to talk about the Bartman Curse?

That would be so cool, to have a curse named after you.

:D

Anyone good with anime? I think Dusty running after the NLCS trophy and Bartman jerking it away would be way funny.

Haha, I sometimes make animations with Paint and GIF Animator, I could give it a shot. It sounds like it'd be fun!

I would suggest Bartman riding away with the trophy on a goat.

Yes...He is being blamed when what happened was nothing compared to GONZO muffing the ground ball and Prior loosing his composure. Not to mention there was no guarantee that Alou would catch the ball. After all he dropped an easier one in Puerto Rico.

Yeah, lets not forget that multi-million dollar professional athletes screwed up greater than some guy in the stands did. He pays BIG money to go to a HUGE game, and a ball flies in his direction and he tried to grab it. You really can't blame the guy for trying for a play-off ball!

Does anybody else find it funny that his last name is the same name as Bart Simpsons superhero alter-ego? :lolhitting We need a picture of him in a "Bartman" superhero costume swooping down from the skies pulling the ball from Alou!

I feel sorry for him now. He has taken too much for the Cubs not being in the World Series. If I did that to the Sox, I would be heartbroken.

Hmmm,

Steve Bartman

Could it be SuperSteve Bartman?

Fess up SuperSteve where you at the game? ;)

At this time I feel sorry for him.

He really didn't do anything wrong. Those fans around him were trying

for the ball, also.

Did anybody see ESPN today?

Captain Janks of the Stern show pretended he was Bartman.

ESPN put him on and Dan Patrick had to say, "We were duped."

That's cause the fake Bartman said, "What do you think

of Howard Stern's Fartman?"
