Where we are on the calendar, there really is no rush. If they think he can rehab it, this happened at a good time. If it is determined  during his offseason program or in spring training he needs surgery, he won’t miss mor than he would miss if they operated tomorrow.

Well, that's not certain? Some guys take 14 months to be back to pitching after TJS and others are pitching but take additional months to years to return to effectiveness. IF a guy has TJS in the spring, he may not be ready to go by opening day of the next year. If he has TJS right now, he should at least be ready for spring training 2022, if there is one.

It doesn’t say he left the game with “left ROTATOR CUFF tightness”.  It says “left FOREARM tightness”.  So why is everyone jumping to the conclusion that TJS is inevitable at this point?

Go to sleep Bosley. it's clearly past your bedtime.

Luckily the off-season is just beginning which means you’ll have several months to work on your funny man bit that, at the moment, is not landing the plane on the punchlines.

Forearm tightness is the most common early diagnosis of a torn UCL that doesn't happen in one big dramatic instant tear.

If there is something messed up right now, he will miss next season anyway. If they think rest will fix it, they will know probably before spring training if it worked. If he needs surgery and has it by February, chances are he will lose no more time than if they operate now. This isn’t like if it happened next April and they decided to try rest and have that fail.

Hopefully he is fine and this was a bit of a false alarm.

I'm not sure what is worse, he needs Tommy John surgery or he is fine and they took him out for no reason other than his velocity was down. Did he give some type of signal to the dugout that something was wrong or did Ricky and the trainer come out on their own because they were curious about his velocity?

He said there was something going on. There is a lot all of us can criticize RR for, but lifting him was the correct move.

If the choice is to overreact or underreact to a potential UCL injury the answer is ALWAYS to overreact. Always.

You mixed that up. Rotator cuff is shoulder while TJ is elbow

As long as he's optioned first ;)

Its time to stop worrying about service time.  This team has moved into its contention window.  For the next few years, the goal should be to put the most talented players on the field every single day.  If Crochet needs TJ, he should get it done tomorrow.  The team shouldn't be thinking about 2027 right now.  They should be thinking about winning the World Series as many times as possible.

And manipulating one guys time isn't going to make a difference in keeping the window open.  The only way they can do that is to draft, develop, and sign guys well.

Not sure what is worse ? Of course him being hurt is way worse. There's no other way to look at it.
