I know Dave was laid off recently, but if he's not on the staff, is this that big of a deal that Duncan is on the sox? He was ... already on the sox for the last few years. Yeah bmags. He was. This one is a head scratcher. Not sure what Bruce is reporting here. Not sure what the sox are doing with Dave either. His health isn't the best anymore. What about the analytic coaches that did not make the World Series? Why did they not make it? Joe Maddon was listed in 2016, why did he not make the WS this year? Why did Francona not make it this year?

Having a smart savvy manager who also uses analytics is ideal. The most important thing is you must have talent. Tampa Bay and Oakland are great stories of being frugal and winning. turnin' two
Analytics are great for big picture stuff. That is what they are. Numbers that play out over a large sample size. Trying to boil that down to make it work in a one game situation is a misuse of the data.

He even has a buddy sitting next to him to think it over with. Managers who go against the odds sometimes win a game or two...but the odds finally catch up with them.

Kalapse
Anyone know TLR's take on batflips? The Sox are having a TA batflip bobblehead day next year, that style of play and flare is a signature of this team.

Rickey Henderson had some nice bat flips. He hated LaRussa, and I think LaRussa hated him, but he put him in the line up and Rickey was pretty great.
