I looked up the tweets yesterday.  Immediately after the Sox announced that RR was gone, Nightengale tweeted that Hinch was a strong candidate.  Later that afternoon Nightengale tweeted the LaRussa interest.  After things had gone quiet durning the World Series, the day after the series ends Bruce LeVine tweets about LaRussa gauging interest in staff hires.  Bruce doesn't exactly break Sox news that he isn't fed directly.  I'm looking at who is putting out the info and wondering why.  Dan Roan and a former Bear is some odd sourcing confirmation too.

The Lance Briggs thing makes zero sense. Which means, with the White Sox, it probably makes all the sense in the world.

Bruce & Nightengale are KW’s go-to plants.

Good post. There is a connection between Brian Bilek’s tweet about Hahn and KW not being on the same page and with KW feeding organization info to Bruce and Nightengale. Sounds like Hahn was overruled.

Lance Briggs works the for The Score, no? He probably heard it from someone who works there. His source is probably Bruce lol

You have Frank Thomas and Ozzie Guillen at the same place, without even getting into people like Our Chuck and others who have feelers into the business.  it isn't hard to see how Lance could have heard something.

@ZackMeisel

1st reported the #Indians placed Brad Hand on outright waivers to see if a team claims him and they do not have to pay even his $1M buyout on his $10M 2021 option. I think this illustrates the offseason ahead. This morning an agent (not Hand's) predicted Hand

There's such a huge opportunity this off-season to take advantage of the times. Please please White Sox... don't cry poor.

If the AL manager of the year can lose the world series by taking Snell out too early. And the Astros go deep into the Playoffs with a last minute Baker at the helm instead of everybodys favorite candidate, Hinch. There's not much a manager can do to make your team win. They mostly there to just take the blame for your losses. So I believe the only way La Russa can hurt this team is by being old. Not because he will fall asleep, but because he may scare off free agents who are ageists. Because players win games and we need more players.

This guy is A Mass. writer so I doubt he is connected to White Sox. But this earlier tweet  I find interesting

La Russa was an active advisor with the Red Sox under Dombrowski. Was shocked at how many games he attended (like 150+, including almost every road trip).
