It would be the most illogical hiring ever. The Sox may end up winning with or without him, but hiring La Russa for 2021 is the weirdest managerial hiring ever. It’s just so weird.

It’s just so weird!!

Reinsdorf has said he’s a caretaker of the franchise. This is not good caretaking. It may work in the long run. But probably not and it has the potential to be a huge dumpster fire. We’ll see.

Imagine putting in a year to prepare to climb Mt Everest. You train, you work, you spend a month in basecamp to acclimate. You buy tons of expensive equipment. Then we you get past the last camp, mere hundreds of feet from the summit, you tear off your cloths and start making snow angels, suffocate, fall off the mountain and die.  Then you get left there as a rotting corpse because it is too dangerous to rescue you after your stupidity.  That is our last five years.

Well they obviously have gone over the whole kneeling anthem thing with him and our players.  They would’t have done this without feeling good about that moving forward.  So, let’s hear them out.  I imagine we are going to have a manager in training on the bench as well

On record, f@ck this move and JR for making it happen.  This is the absolute worst hire we could have possibly made, and that includes Hinch, Guillen, Ricky, and any other real candidates for the job.

La Russa is basically the worst traits of everyone.

  • Nepotism hire.
  • A cheat
  • A drunk
  • "Trust my gut"
  • The storyline will now be about him all year
  • Risks throwing the locker room into absolute turmoil
  • Can be a massive detriment to free agents
  • Hasn't managed in years

If White Sox ownership/management can piss even you off, now you understand how many of us here have been feeling for years. They aren't a group to put much faith into.

Bob Nightengale deserves some apologies.

What a lost opportunity. Seriously, how often does a team that should win 90 + games a year for many years have a managerial opening? It has to be one of the most attractive jobs ever, and they hire this relic?

If RH is totally against this and the mlb  burner guy is legit, I will have more respect for him if he does quit than any other sports executive ever.

When will Tony bring Bobby Knight to spring training to observe and tell him how to keep Eloy and TA in line?

i am so disgusted. But this is on JR. If it doesn’t work, he deserves every pot shot he gets.

Dude, idk what you don't realize. Politics permeates everyday life and always has. There is nothing that is non-political.

People are more aware of that and it's creeping into more topics.

Everything is political. "Apolitical" doesn't exist.

Doesn't have to be.
