The Critic
I think I prefer the way the Sox faded instead of the legendary failure of the 2003 sCrUBS. Sure, their fans had some fun for a few weeks messing with Sox fans, but ultimately the Sox faithful will be able to simply add 2003 to the other years that torment all of CubDumb. Whaddya think? Fade or Explode?

southsider2k5
Personally, I gotta say the making the playoffs is better than not making the playoffs every single time. What is so good about staying at home? Nothing. If we make the playoffs, it puts all of the more pressure on ownership to retain key players and increase payroll. Instead they have the excuse that we didn't win anything even with all of these players.
mmmmmbeeer
In the words of Neil Young, "it's better to burn out than it is to rust". I'd give anything to see the Sox make the ALCS. That would mean that we'd actually won a playoff series. I think a loss in the playoffs would be tougher to stomach, but atleast I'd know that we still had a fairly successful season when it's all said and done. Queen has a similar line in a song they wrote for the movie Highlander: "It's better to burn out than to fade away." Sorry, I gotta use the Queen references when I can.
