...and now he has his own podcast. Good for him!

Dahl is arb eligible through ‘23 with a baseline now of 3 million. No reason the Sox couldn’t or shouldn’t have beaten that if they are looking for production at a budget. Definition of a buy low signing. Good move for the Rangers though

David Dahl is a Colorado player with Colorado splits. He had a .751 OPS on the road, 1.000 OPS in Colorado. And that was his good year. If you look at his career splits, they are worse. Dahl is cheaper than Eaton, but away from Colorado, he's never been better.

His splits were better than LeMehiue. There have been studies performed that demonstrate coors effect has negative impact on road splits. Players road splits consistently improve after leaving the Rockies. Someone posted these previously Players generally normally hit significantly better at home no matter where they play as well. Probably still a .800+ ops hitter. If you actually watch the game it is clear he can hit

Not sure where else to put this or if it's already been mentioned, but Chuck's podcast interviewed Katz. Some really good insight here, including guys preliminary work with Reynaldo Lopez. He specifically said they're working on the curve ball and bringing that back.

Here is to hoping for good things.  Kid needs some confidence and repeatability to his stuff.

Hopefully the first order of business for Katz is letting every arm that abandoned their curveball under Cooper bring it back.

Why would Cease want to start throwing this pitch again? He doesn't need it.

It's nice to get a brief break from "JR is cheap" "TLR is a drunk" "RH is the worst GM ever" over and over in every thread to listen to this little oasis of sanity. Wow is this exciting.  The idea of Katz working with Cease, Lopez, Kopeck and Crochett...be still my heart.  There's also a nice article in Bleacher Report about the White Sox home grown relief staff.   So very much positive in this organization.  So much to be excited about.

2 of those three are the organization shooting itself in the foot and then wondering why they can't walk.

I remember that intrasquad game. He looked like an ace. K'd a bunch of guys. Then during the season we never saw that Cease again. 8 K's in 4.2 innings.

2019: Fastball - 51.5% slider - 21.0% curveball - 18.5% changeup - 8.9%

2020: Fastball - 47.8% slider - 30.1% curveball - 9.3% change of - 12.7%

Crazy that he threw half as many curveballs in 2020 as he did in 2019, and replaced that usage with sliders. Was this by Coop's design?
