Real Talk - Trading Kopech would be a big time mistake

The bottom line, not just for Kopech, but for the entire off-season is this. If the Sox plug a couple holes by trading away their top 2-3 prospects, they are not being serious enough to legitimately compete for a World Series. Not saying they need to sign Bauer or Springer, but if they don't bring in 2-4 solid players this off-season, the same depth issues that plagued them last year will again this year.

I wouldn’t trade any of the young guys now. Wait and see what they got. And if they don’t work out here trade them for some other teams not performing might still be a stud.

Sign some more pitchers. That just requires cash.

Kopech sat out 2020 due to the Covid danger didn't he? Is there any chance he sits out 2021 for the same reason? For whatever it is Covid isn't going away.

Hopefully by April we are talking about a hundred million vaccine doses being available and MLB requiring all their players to have gotten it. Not enough to stop it nationwide but enough that vaccinating all players and families can happen.

I'm sure that wasn't the only reason but I'm sure he knows it wouldn't be a great idea to sit out 2 seasons in a row. He need to start pitching if he has any interest in making millions of dollars unless he'd rather be relativtely poor like us non-professional athletes.

Trading Kopech would be insane.   He's a legitimate TOR guy would could win 400 games for us over the next 17-18 years.    If anything, extend him and lock him into a long term deal.    It's crazy to talk about trading a future HoFer before he even gets to pitch a full season for us.

Apparently it is Tanksgiving at this guys house.  :drink

Ahh yes, a vaccine could allow him to compete again without worry. Wow, though, would the players union be cool with a mandate that their players *have* to get vaccinated?
