maxjusttyped Posted December 25, 2020 Share Posted December 25, 2020 Brantley's offensive profile fits the Sox better than any FA available, but signing him likely puts Eloy on the path to being a full-time DH. That's likely where he's headed, but he's only 24 and if the work ethic is good I think you have to try him there for a bit longer. Then you're blocking Vaughn from playing time if he looks ready early next season as well. I know Brantley can't throw at all, but I wonder if the Sox would at least be willing to try him in RF.
