And that’s fine if they didn’t want to wait, but ultimately no one should be surprised when Eaton misses a ton of games or ends up being inefficient as the season wears down.  His body simply can’t endure a full season and remain productive.  Honestly, it’s just frustrating we’ve had this massive hole in RF for two straight years and now will have to trade away prospects to fill it.

Who is surprised by it?  I think the Sox were forced into playing him more than they planned to.  If Robert, Eloy and Engel weren’t out, Eaton probably gets way more days off and maybe his body holds up better.  Maybe not, but we will never know.

No one should be surprised by it.  My point is Eloy gets hurt all the time as well, so when combined with Eaton’s own injury history you’re looking at quite a bit of playing time likely opening up at some point in the corners.  I just feel like given those considerations along with leveraging a rookie DH, we should had a better insurance plan than what we have now.

Yeah, while I preferred Joc at the time, given what we thought we knew then, I was OK with Eaton. And even though it hasn't gone well, I still think that it was a reasonable choice.

At this point, if Starling will be too expensive, I would monitor Puig's legal situation; he's countersued his accuser. I would think that if there was truth to her accusation that she could go to the LA sheriff's dept, which could be checkmate for this accusation and for his career.

If she doesn't, then I'm inclined to doubt the veracity of her accusation. We'll  see.

The other option could be Schwarber, although I'm not yet convinced that he'll be marketed when the trade market heats up. But I remain convinced that this offense needs help from outside, and that its a rental or two that is needed.

I still think if healthy, Eaton can play. Whether he can stay healthy is a legit question, but I didn't think he was as injury prone as others. When he was here previously, he answered the bell. His first 2 partials in DC were caused by the same play slipping on a wet base. He had knee surgery, came back, his ankle was bothering him,. They claim it happened when he hurt the knee. Got a specialist to clean it up, and he was fine the rest of 2018 and all of 2019. Last year, I think he broke a finger.

The hammy problems the White Sox are having is going to cause either a workout or stretching change. It seems there always is some injury players get in bunches. IMO, it has to come from their routines, since most are very similar. Lakers just fired their trainer.  Apparently it was her fault LeBron messed up his ankle.

Dick, Madrigal caused his own injury by over stretching trying to hit first base.  I never saw Engel's injury.  I saw Robert's injury, and you might have a point there.

Kopech as well, although I think if he wasn't on an innings limit, he would probably be back by now. His didn't seem very bad, and he is a strong dude. I think giving him a blow now probably seems like a good idea, as he probably would have had to take a couple of weeks off anyway.

I saw Kopech playing Long Toss in outfield prior to yesterday's game.  Looked good.
