How do you figure? Hahn is under contract; he would need permission to interview.

I believe that's only for a lateral move. The Phillies could call him VP of baseball operations and not need permission.

The Phillies spent 455 million on two players in the last two years.

The Sox biggest contract in their history was for 74 million.

The two are nothing alike.

Yes. One made the playoffs and the other didn't.

IIRC, Toronto asked JR for permission to interview KW for Paul Beeston's job.  Beeston and JR were buddies, and no one knew Beeston was on the way out.  So JR was pissed and sat on the request.  Later he found out Toronto reached out to KW without his permission, tampering.  Also they were trying to recruit him during the winter meetings so the timing was impossible.

Normally I believe permission is almost always granted if a promotion is part of the deal.  Toronto just handled this one poorly and pissed off  JR, and KW had no intention of doing it anyway.

I also thought RH interviewed for a couple of GM jobs that he didn't get before he was promoted to GM with the Sox.

Why would someone leave? Job security is not an issue. He turned down many interviews when he wasn't the GM.

When Jerry is gone, Kenny and Hahn are gone. Jerry theoretically can't live forever, and he is approaching 90 soon. And Jerry just big timed Hahn and denied him a managerial hire yet again.

He'd give it to TLR.

Jerry already did give it to LaRussa. Kenny and Hahn are Executives in name only, 4th and 5th on the totem pole.

White Sox Hierarchy: Chairman of the Board: Reinsdorf > Direct Reports: SEVP Howard Pizer & DAC Tony LaRussa > Next layer: EVP Kenny Williams > Rick Hahn/Don Cooper

The people who constantly complain about how cheap JR is, are probably the same way in their own personal life.  They prefer to spend someone else money.

Yes, I frequently compare my spending habits to that of someone who has more money than the average net worth of over 2100 households.

It's actually been argued by some studies that rich people are significantly cheaper than poorer people.

It's an inexact science though and there are conflicting reports.

What is DAC, and where is this documented?

Rich people ARE cheaper than poor people.  Because they are smarter.  You can hate JR all you want but he is rich for a reason.

Drunken Ass Clown. Whether Tony is formally above Kenny and or Hahn in the org chart is semantics. Neither Kenny or Hahn had a say in Tony's hire, if you cannot hire your direct reports, you really don't have any power, just a title.

Hahn has already been in the position multiple times, inheriting Ventura and then having to slot in Renteria with no formal interview process. Then after Hahn grants Renteria an extension, Jerry sometime after Tony's arrest decided Tony would be the next manager. Hell Don Cooper was Kenny's direct report since Ozzie's managing days. Not sure whether Kenny fired Cooper or whether it was LaRussa's call. it's a completely dysfunctional organization. the Bulls were run exactly the same way until jerry stepped down and let Michael run things, including hiring professional executives and coaches.

Being wealthy does not directly correlate with being intelligent.

And Jerry spend less than his wealthy peers so...

Yes it does and you can link a chart or whatever that is claiming anything that fits your agenda.  I have no need for it.
