Chicago White Sox
24 minutes ago, Flash said: Not sure what's going on in SD. They are a relatively small market team. With Musgrove, their payroll creeps into the $175Mish range. They are wheeling and dealing as if they know something no one else knows. Maybe they are counting on an increase in team value comensurate with increased W/L success or maybe they feel the pandemic is fading and gate receipts will rebound in 2021. Preller/Padres are zigging when everyone else seems to be zagging and that might pay off nicely or ???? They simply have an owner who wants to win above all else. I buy that theory if Sox do not invest in 16 year olds period. But Sox has sign these kids in the past, including this signing period, but just not often enough. Now you could make case that perhaps they only engaged with these kids the year prior to their eligible year, instead of approaching them at 13/14 years old. But I don’t think anyone here could confirm that.

That was the most fun baseball game I've ever played. This game was as good as it gets for baseball gamers. I think there is still a community out there playing mod versions till this day. Sox fans are obsessed with the padres due to the tatis trade but the chance that the white sox and padres face off in the WS is probably more like 10%. Playoffs are a crap shoot and it could just as well be the dodgers, Mets or braves making the WS plus the sox need to make it there too. Sox fans should be way more worried about winning their division and then making it to the WS then about some NL team that they might or might not face.

Plus they're in the same spot as us so it is indeed fun to compare the two.

Whether it is the Dodgers or the Padres, the NL is getting tougher and tougher. That NL East is killer. The Padres have found a new market efficiency and good for them. They are getting teams to trade away proven players for lottery tickets. I still think Prellar is a dick and cannot root for them but what he did a few years back is proving fruitful.
