YASNY
If there was a Mt, Rushmore for baseball, Henry Aaron would be on it.

CaliSoxFanViaSWside
A sad day for baseball . A great player and more importantly a great person who overcame hatred with dignity and perseverance , the same way he played baseball.
CaliSoxFanViaSWside
https://www.mlb.com/braves/news/hank-aaron-baseball-legend-dies I link this because there is a great video with Matt Vasgergian and Harold Reynolds interviewing Bob Kendrick, President of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. It is unimaginable for any of us to truly comprehend being in the on deck circle thinking you might get gunned down . Kendrick made point of saying how difficult baseball is under the best of circumstances yet Aaron endured and excelled under the worst of circumstances. 1

turnin' two
Holy crap. If you take away all of Hank's homers, he still had more hits than Wade Boggs. Wade is 30th in hits in MLB history.
poppysox
I read that Hank played against 22 teams in his career including 19 games against the WS. We are the only team of those 22 that he failed to hit an HR. Thought that was an interesting piece of nostalgia.
CaliSoxFanViaSWside
I was watching Tom Verducci and he pointed out that Aaron , who wore #44, hit his record breaking HR against #44 of the Dodgers Al Downing. He also passed away on 1/22/21. 1+ 22 + 21= 44. The Universe , fate, God seem to be paying tribute too .
