What a move by Cardinals. Stellar move and with 50 million coming over to boot - contract doesn’t look near as bad either. This is the way Sox could get a big money guy one day.

They should be circling the Rockies like hawks right now.

But we know better.

The Commissioner should step in and disallow the trade from going through.  It's that one-sided.  Owner Monfort thinking only of his own pocketbook.  The trade is a joke and bad for baseball.  The same can be said for Monfort.

You are wrong. Colorado dumping nolan is the win for them. Its a fine trade

Deleted original post. My post was before learning his 2021 option is deferred to 2022, so he remains in St. Louis a minimum 2 seasons.

Learned his 2022 also vests with the trade

Annoying that the Cards get Arenado for this price, the Mets get Lindor and 3 years of Carrasco for, from what I can tell, not much more than what the Sox gave up for 1 year of Lance Lynn.

Alderson and Mozeliak are smart and patient, and have owners willing to spend among the top 10 in MLB. They White Sox, not so much by any measure.

Following the Bulls now for the first time in decades. Huge change in Bulls fortunes now that Jerry and his crony FO have been removed from the situation. Hopeful this also happens with the local team I care most about in the next few seasons.

Great move by the cards.

Would RH be willing to move Vaughn, Kopech and Collins for Marquez & Nunez? or take on Blackmon to reduce the value sent over as his contract is roughly 40M underwater since the Rockies are now focused on selling off?

My guy, did you just see what the Cardinals gave up for the future Hall of Famer with years of control? Why do you want to move two guys in the Top 40 (one in the Top 20) for a lesser package?
