Only 29K at game yesterday, is it possible the faithful is wavering??

I think the faithful have been wavering for some time. The team will still draw well with the losing. But I think the Lovable Loser stuff is fading and has been fading. Their FO must know they have to do something meaningful this offseason. Maybe it's me, but I think Cub fans have become bitter since 2016. There is some real anger out there.

Because I am a huge fan of Rick Hahn and front office strategy in general I will give my thoughts

I the interview with Jed Hoyer after they selled, which u can find on YouTube, some things he said made total sense and others were kind of questionable.

In the years of 2017-2020 they spent quite a bit of $ trying to add to the core they had so they could be great. It backfired financially I guess.

What does make sense is Lester,Rizz,KB,Baez, and Schwarber were not worth huge $ they wanted. But to me it's kind of crazy to just let go of everybody.

We'll see if the prospects they got are gonna be good, and in 2-4 years they will have alot of money to spend and they will buy some players. The white sox kind of did similar things although we never let go of nearly ALL of our good players.

He referenced other teams that have had down years, then got good again "the right way".

I have friends who are Cardinals fans and John Mozeliak has a little Kenny William's in him as they try to compete every year, and in the last 6 years they are average ballclub.

The Tribune acts like it still owns the Cubs. It had a game story of the Sox pounding the Cubs. Then there were two stories about the Cubs so-called rebuild. The Cubs are almost 20 games under .500, get pounded on almost daily basis, and are going nowhere. The Sox are 20 games over .500 and going to the playoffs. So, let's write about the team that will be losing for some time to come.

The Tribune is the suburban newspaper, like the Daily Herald more readers are Cub fans.

The Daily News was the city paper, than the Sun-Times for a few years until Murdoch trashed it in the early 80s. That’s when we stopped getting the paper at home.

The Daily Southtown was a good paper for Sox coverage. The Athletic has the best current coverage.

The Herald had better Sox coverage than the Tribune in those recent times when the Trib didn't have a regular Sox writer.  At least now they have LaMond Pope on the beat and he's man for the job, IMO.

Oh.  Lol for some reason I thought he wrote for one of the Southside based newspapers that I'm now forgetting.  Haha.

I had to check the name, but Scot Gregor has been on the Sox beat for the Herald for over 20 years and he knows what he is doing as a writer.  This while the Tribune couldn't afford a regular Sox beat writer.
