caulfield12
Colome is not well-suited for any situation where he comes into the game and runners are already in scoring position... Both teams have pretty woeful offenses right now. Twins badly need Buxton back, day to day with patella/r tendonitis. Tony intentionally made a move to insert Liam Hendriks as his extra inning runner, questioned by his coaches and possibly players, and had Hamilton bat at the most critical juncture. It doesn’t get more pathetic. 2021 White Sox extra inning hitters: (Fangraph offensive rank among 18 White Sox hitters in 2021) - all one at bat except Grandal (2). Madrigal (5th) Collins (9th) Eaton (10th) Grandal (14th) Lamb (15th) Hamilton (16th) Williams (17th) Garcia (18th and last) Tony’s runners: Nick Williams; Yoan Moncada and Liam Hendricks. Kyyle23
So, I searched Mazara on the MLB app and it appears the app does not believe that he is in the league. Does anyone else get the same thing?

caulfield12
Cleveland righty Zach Plesac was put on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, the result of breaking the thumb on his pitching hand while yanking off his undershirt after a rough outing. There was no initial word on how long the 26-year-old Plesac would be sidelined. According to manager Terry Francona, Plesac hurt himself while "rather aggressively taking off his undershirt" after Sunday's start against the Minnesota Twins at Progressive Field. Plesac started the game with three perfect innings, but the Twins scored five times in the fourth, including a three-run homer by Max Kepler. Plesac was removed from the game with two outs in the inning, starting the chain of events leading to the injury. "I think he caught it on a chair," Francona said before a game at Detroit. "It was pretty swollen yesterday, so we sent him for X-rays last night and got them back about the sixth inning." Of course, Carrasco’s salary was jettisoned in the Lindor trade. So huge start for McKenzie to retain/protect his rotation spot.

caulfield12
BALTIMORE – It's called Camden Yards, a ballpark that is normally wonderfully welcoming to the Twins, and a site they hoped would serve as their launching pad up the standings. But this year, for these Twins? Call it Camden Graveyards. Mitch Garver, Rob Refsnyder and Caleb Thielbar all went down because of a variety of injuries. The patchwork Twins had trouble making defensive plays. And the Orioles, of all people, made the Twins look like the offensively challenged bottom-feeders that Baltimore has been most of the season. The Orioles, who hadn't won a series from the Twins in five years, who never managed back-to-back wins in May, who had not won a series in their iconic home park since mid-September, left the Twins for roadkill on Wednesday, dismissing them with a 6-3 loss to take the last two games of the three-game series. The Twins head to Kansas City for four games facing an 11-game deficit in the AL Central that feels about twice that large. https://www.startribune.com/depleted-twins-lose-second-consecutive-game-to-woeful-baltimore/600064023/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=twins

As one of their writers put it the other day "this is no longer a good team struggling, this is a bad team with its hands full against fellow bottom feeders". Well said Twins writer!
