2021 MLB Catch-all Thread

Brett Phillips pitched tonight for the Rays and Toronto totally broke baseball's unwritten rules. Watch the inning. Toronto got one run and all the hitters were swinging so hard obviously trying to hit a home run.  Bases were loaded at one point and the Jays were definitely trying to hit a grand slam up 11-1.

Just saw the strangest thing on MLB Network. TOR has 1st and 2nd with 1 out. Fly ball to left field that the BAL LF dives for, hits his glove, but clearly doesn't catch.

Umpire mistakenly calls him out. Runners were going, and the runner from second had rounded third, and when he sees the out called, realizes he can't get back to 2nd in time and just stops and gets tagged out. Runner from 1st had gotten to 2nd but then retouched and went back to 1st.

Replay correctly rules that the ball was not caught. They also rule that if the umpire had made the correct call, the runner from 2nd would have scored and the runner from 1st gotten to 2nd, so that's where they are placed.

The DBacks have played 1/3 of a baseball season at 7-47. Unbelievable.

The Diamondbacks are a complete embarrassment. Almost 40 games under .500 at the ASB. I was in St. Louis recently and took in a Dbacks-Cardinals game. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Arizona's relief pitcher was clearly spent. He had already thrown over 60 pitches and had given up four runs. But he was left in and gave up a two-run homer before finally getting out of the inning. The game, which had been close, had been turned into a joke.

People would expect Arizona to be sellers. But if the team gives up what little talent it has, how bad are they going to get? Now a 22-1 loss to the Dodgers. Was that even a major league game? This is nothing but pathetic.

Phillies place four players, including today's previously slated SP Aaron Nola, on the Rona IL list.

Cues Bill Burr's Philly rant.

And then also blame the vaccination

The 10 postseason teams right now:

AL- Red Sox, White Sox, Astros, A’s, Rays

NL- Mets, Brewers, Giants, Dodgers, Padres

Not talking about Division or Wildcard here, but will these 10 teams ever change from now until the end? I’m thinking the NL East is the most likely, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it just stays the same 10.
