To be fair, anyone that loses their best power hitter and maybe now their best pure hitter is going to struggle. Who could they have signed for the bench for .325 average or 40+ homers?

There are several players they could have signed to prevent themselves from going to replacement level production the second someone got hurt. The Padres have arguably the best SS and utility player in the game but still managed to sign Profar & Kim Ha-seong. Both of those players would be critical for the Sox right now and would be major upgrades over someone like Billy Hamilton or even Leury.

The west coast has never been kind to the White Sox, a few mishaps/errors that even high school teams don’t make that changed two games that will not continue to happen,  Good Angels offense.

I was going to be super happy with a split in this series, it is tough to watch with all the excitement and hype this year but it is WAY too early to freak out.

At least the owner opened up the checkbook this off-season to help build depth.  If Timmy is on the DL for any period of time that might be a death knell.

To also be fair, you need to spend money on decent SP that can easily be had for decent prices and have some depth to your roster.

They got Lance Lynn...and have Kopech and Crochet coming soon? What would they really have done? Serious question? They were not giving up on Cease yet no matter how much you think they should.

Injuries way more upsetting than the results.

Kopech and Crochet aren’t going to give you starting innings this year.

Serious question?

Am assortment of other solid SP were available and for trade. Paxton being one primary example. One year rentals would have been a good strategy in this case.

Lastella and Gonzalez were easily and readily available.

Going into the season with Rodon/Lopez competing for the 5th slot was inexcusable.
