It was the correct call, but it should  have been called on the missed tag, he went out of the lane. He was where he should be when it bounced off his helmet. The weird part is he took forever to call it.

Nah on a thrown ball there has to be intent by runner to interfere per rules

Otherwise a fielder could just throw the ball at the runner to record an out. Makes no sense. Throwing ball at someone’s head should not result in an out

Now, what I was compiling, before the Eaton HR happened. Just how bad has our hitting with RISP been?

April 1 (at LAA): 0-2 (L)
April 2 (at LAA): 5-13 (W)
April 3 (at LAA): 2-8 (L)
April 4 (at LAA): 0-11 (L)
April 5 (at SEA): 3-9 (W)
April 6 (at SEA): 2-11 (W)
April 7 (at SEA): 2-9 (L)
April 8 (vs KC): 5-10 (W)
April 11 (vs KC): 1-12

Look at that, this season we are 20-85 with RISP. You can't win many games, that way, period.

RISP numbers are volatile and always normalize throughout a season. Relax-
