Should have hit the cutoff. Wasn't getting that guy and allowed guy to reach second by throwing home directly.

That was a slow catcher running. 100% should have had a play at the plate. Wasn’t able to get a clean handle and then an inaccurate throw

This has been the consistent feeling of this team for over a decade now; a single run deficit going into the late innings is enough to feel insurmountable. All too familiar and so far this year hasn't changed.

People have to understand why it's so hard to be positive.

We just don’t have enough above-average hitters right now.

Really bad defense/fundamentals.

Terribly inconsistent bullpen with an obvious lack of clutch hitting.

People overreacting to 51 at-bats from our #8 hitter and our backup catcher.  Never change Soxtalk.

Because he hasn't had 3 different seasons to show........anything at all. Am I right?

The struggles from Vaughn would be easy overlooked if the Sox main weapons were producing. Abreu-Anderson-Moncada have all been disappointing to start the season. If/when those guys heat up, the team is going to look a lot better, assuming the pitching is still clicking.

Vaughn is an issue right now, no doubt. But they could survive it if the big guys in the lineup were producing at even average levels.

Let’s not forget that outfield still is a little slick from the snow melting...his feet weren’t set on the throw.

By that definition, Moncada doesn’t fare well, except 2019.  Collins will never do that obviously, and possesses nothing of Yoan’s talent, either.   His bat speed has been an issue from his time in the minors.

I’ll just say that if it were certain other players on the team there wouldn’t be that excuse. It was a bad defensive play

I fully agree. But it IS hard when you're trying to compete with 3 (if you count Collins who has had plenty of time) young hitters developing and one of our best hitters sidelined.
