I don't disagree, however there will be no world series this year without Eloy/Robert so might as well try to get something for Lynn and Rodon.

Rodon said that he never considered signing anywhere else this winter, so hopefully they can keep him now that he looks to have turned the corner with injuries and command issues.

Both Eloy and Robert will be back well before the playoffs.  The Sox aren't trading Lynn or Rodon unless they're like 8+ GB in July.  But continue on.

Who exactly is the division favorite in your mind then?  The 10-16 MN Twins who look terrible, or are you suddenly now crowding the Royals division favorites when they've played the easiest schedule in MLB so far?

Just curious which Strength of Schedule listing you're looking at? Top 3 on Google all have the White Sox having an easier schedule than the Royals so far, one of them has the White Sox as the easiest in baseball so far. Interesting how much scatter there is to these.

Long term the Twins and less realistically the Indians can move ahead of us if this bullpen doesn't get sorted out. The Twins have the offense to go on a big run and the Indians pitching is good enough to keep them around. I'm not saying the Sox won't be in the mix, especially with the Twins early struggles, but we can't call ourselves a favorite until this bullpen is straightened out with Robert now being out.

Providing an update on an off day means bad news.

Naw, that could be "grade 1 strain, onto the 10 day IL, estimated 4-6 weeks", which is pretty much the best we already expected.

I'd have been more worried with no update at all as that would mean they needed more tests or a specialist opinion or something like that. Could still be bad here, but no update would be worse.

It would have required an offer to consider signing elsewhere.
