NO!!MARY!!!
For the third straight day, Jay bemoans the fate of his beloved Cubbies. Sniff, sniff. But he also once again invokes the name of Steve Bartman, calling him the Designated Scapegoat. What a jagoff. First, he cuts loose on the guy the day after game 6, calling him a goof, an idiot and a nerd within the first 18 words of his column. Now, he keeps piling on the guy. Why? What the hell for? He makes absolutely no mention of Alex Gonzalez' error, Prior's meltdown or Wood's ineffective game 7 or Baker's bad moves. No, no. It is all the fault of Steve Bartman. He caused it. Oh. And the curse. Let's not forget about that. What an idiot. What an absolute idiot.

The Critic
Jay is bird cage liner. ...and so is his column! Mariotti is trash journalism, easy cheap opinions designed to shift 180 degrees in a blink of an eye. Stupid low-rent blathering that isn't worth the paper it's printed on. I'd wish for him to leave, but EVERY newspaper has one of these f***tards, so if it wasn't him it would be someone else, and maybe the next guy wouldn't have that funny Western Pennsylvania "Elmer Fudd speech impediment" that's so much fun to hear. IlliniBob72
I thought he came from Detroit. At any rate, he and the Sun-Times deserve each other. He and his ridiculous columns and them with their yellow journalism, naming Bartman while every other respectable media outlet held off on publishing his name. Like I said, they're a match made in heaven.

Pastime
I can sum up Jay Mariotti for all of you in a simple paragraph. Jay Mariotti is NOT a native Chicagoan, or a native Chicago sports fan. He's a Detroit sports fan. He's not a fan of any of the teams in the Windy City. However, he has to sell papers to keep his "edge," and more importantly, to keep his job. So, he resorts to just printing garbage that gets people fired up. He doesn't even care one way or another - he just wants to say whatever it takes for people to respond positively or negatively. Either way, he gets a response. He takes the popular stance whenever possible, and runs with it. He could care less what the Chicago teams do - as long as he can rile up the suffering fandom of Chicago teams by saying what they want to hear. And as long as he does that, he keeps his job - and keeps his title as the biggest asshole in town. I say we take him to the Brookfield Zoo, cover him in glue and cotton balls, stick him up an female elephant's pie and make him the world's largest tampon. Mariotti, better known as 'KotexBoy', thanks to David Wells, came to Chicago from Cleveland. He's had two stints here, the first while having a bit of a problem. I ran into him downtown as he was working on that problem, and he decided to announce to the world that he hated Chicago, her fans, her teams and everything about her. A few of us made certain KB knew just how Chicago felt about him. I wish more people knew of this guy, and stopped reading him so he'd be forced out of this town.
