? Why?

Idk I just don't see how taking oakland and putting them in a smaller market is a good idea.

The NFL works because the NFL could work anywhere in the country.

NHL works because it doesn't require nearly the revenue to compete. And also the benefit of a miracle cup run.

I'm just envisioning like 8,000 people a game, because where on the average person's vegas itinerary does taking in a baseball game come in?

Yeah I tend to agree with this. There would probably be about as many or more out of town fans for the opposing team than the home team.

You can't really guarantee any new fanbase will take to a team. But, I think Las Vegas has shown a desire for pro sports teams that make it a good fit.

Raleigh/Nashville are growing like crazy, but I'd bet Las Vegas handling a baseball team better. Plus, you wouldn't have to deal with re-alignment. I could see SLC put up a fight with its growth as well.

Whether they move or not, I just hope they stop using those noisemakers.  When the fans are in the stands, that stadium is a sensory overload nightmare...I have to turn the sound off even before the Nationwide jingle.

It's crazy, but put another team or two in NYC.  Divide up that market so that it hurts the Yankees and Mets.

Everyone would lose their minds about it but that’s the best bet to not end up with another charity case.

Its a market that even divided into 4 pieces is still way bigger than most single team markets.  It would also serve to bring the Yankees and Mets revenue streams down towards the level of the other markets.

LV

Nashville

Charlotte/Durham

Montreal

Portland

SLC

Mexico City (outside of the box, would be hard to get the union to approve)...if not, somewhere like Juarez or Nuevo Laredo that are on the border/s.

Vancouver's too close to Seattle, one would imagine.

Indianapolis.

Texas already has three teams, but the Austin/Round Rock area has massive growth now.

Columbus (maybe, but already CLE and Cincy struggling as smaller market teams)

Sacramento

Louisville

Having family in Vegas and spent over a year there over time, I agree.

The season ticket bases are using the tickets to scalp for hockey and football to out of town people. The Knights do have tremendous community backing as being the first professional / non minor league team. A baseball season is 81 games, much higher seating capacity, their cable tv revenue for hockey is not very large. Many just watch at casinos or bars, don't pay for cable subscriptions. Raiders don't worry because they televise games for free.

Montreal could sustain a team if properly run. Charlotte and Nashville are growing, and will likely continue to grow and are better American city options.

Montreal, with the A's moving to the East, Blue Jays to Central, Royals to West.

I think the big challenge with any of the US sites mentioned is well-established fan bases for other teams and trying to win fans over. Montreal is a clean slate.

The best option is to let the A's move to the South Bay, but the Giants aren't going to get on board with that.
