Since LaRussa backed over Yermin for hitting homers, he is

.145/.226/.200/.426

What is really interesting is he has a .159 BABIP since that point.

That's because the opposing defenders are respecting the game damnit!!.....or he is not hitting the ball very hard.

Would have preferred Grandal, Lamb, Mercedes 5-7 if you are going with this lineup.  Also flip Eaton and Madrigal.

Would have liked to see Sheets spell Yermin tonight as well,

What is interesting...

season exit velocity 87.5mph

Since May 18 86.2 mph

Before May 18 88.0 mph.

Not a huge difference in exit velocity, but definitely a drop off.

That is interesting.  I wonder if that relatively small of an amount in difference does have much of an effect?

What's wild is his season long exit velocity is barely over BIlly Hamilton and one of the lowest on the team.  I wonder if it has to with his two strike approach weighting it down.  Even Adam Eaton is 88.5 mph.  Abreu is 92.3 on the top end, and Grandal with 93.2.

Cool to get my Man Soo Lee fix , the world's coolest bullpen catcher, while checking for today's lineup.

Bad launch angle and doesn't pull the ball enough.

For reference point, over the same period of time Yoan went from 90.3 up until May 17, and May 18th til now he is 93.7

3 pitches?

I def missed that AB last night.

Still no excuses for being in an 0-22 slide, but it happens.

He def didn’t have a 3 pitch K last night though.

Yea wise guy, strike one, strike two and strike three.

I must have forgotten about the pitch he threw over his head that Yermin didn't swing at.

Think you forgot a couple other pitches too...

Wise guy.

Yermin saw 6 pitches in the AB he K’d on.

Nonetheless hopefully he finds his stroke!

Of course he is 8th in the single velocity incident rankings at 116.8m, so it is in there for sure.

There's obviously talent there but we're seeing why it took him so long to reach the majors. When you don't produce any sort of defensive value you better hit, and right now he's just not hitting enough.  That said he has the talent to turn it around.  TLR sure is giving him a vote of confidence not even moving him down.
