Well there are probably quite a few guys like Hamilton who are pretty much defense only Like Locastro or Pache and guys who used to be great defensively and are now considered at least above average still like Cain, JBJ and Starling Marte. More guys to consider Brett Phillips, Cedric Mullins, Adolis Garcia.

Garcia?  Seems he's more of a corner guy...no doubt, Cain in 2014-15-16 was awesome.   Phillips has an A+ arm.   JBJr's offense is so horrid he could never be considered for any defensive awards based having to contribute at least something offensively.

Inciarte and Juan Lagares really stand out from past years, as well.

Garcia has played the majority of his games in CF this year and is among the leaders in Outs against average as is Phillips and Mullins this year. In all of this defensive awards are a non consideration . Of course OAA is dependent a lot on playing time because it's accumulative but we could also throw Bellinger into the mix as well.

Even with lack of playing time from 2019 to now Hamilton is still 10th in OAA in that time period.

Cardinals have lost out on Garcia, Arozarena, Luis Robert and of course Oscar Taveras....a lot to lose from one generation of players.  They were just fortunate Price and Heyward hesitated about playing in that “Southern” market.
