Not trading Lynn/Rodon if they can't be extended is a fireable offense.

So you want to see the fanbase react to White Flag trade part 2?  Get a grip dude.  Making noise in the post season short handed or not helps this roster far more than punting the season.

This is confusing.  Do you think they should give up?

Yes.  Yes he thinks they should give up. And he's going to tell us all why, and then backtrack in a few days and tell us that he was just upset and that is his way of coping.

Rinse. Repeat.  Rinse.  Repeat.

I don't agree, middle infielders that are going to be hitting the FA market are a rare abundance this off season; Story will def be moved at the deadline and if the cubs fall out you can expect Baez as well, not to mention Jonathan Schoop. Lets just hope TLR isn't a fucking moron like Ventura, in saying that they have all they need internally.

Correa and Seager too...

Would take a bit of creativity but Moustakis is due back from a heal injury and India has settled in nicely at 2B for the Reds. Reds would need to eat a chunk of Moustakis contract and desperately need pitching (Sonny Gray on DL). Reds are only 5 games back in the Central. Moustakis would be a great 2 hole hitter who can play 2nd or 3rd. Maybe we can pry Antone away as part of a package. Moustakis and Antone for Steiver, Lopez and ???

Ummm...unless financially desperate, no way they go for that.

checked Tim Beckham's stats...doesn't look like he is going to be an option....
.205 BA  .260 OBP . 635 OPS in that hitter's park. yikes.

Like it or not, this is going to Mendick's job for the next few weeks.  Several people were clamoring for him a month or two ago instead of Madrigal.  I guess they'll get their wish.

The last month, much better.  It’s him or Marco Hernandez if they don’t go Leury-Mendick.  Promoting Goodwin likely means it’s Leury for the majority of those at-bats, unfortunately.

The Sox should immediately move Burger over to 2B in AAA and see if he can be even remotely passable there.  Unfortunately, we simply don’t have the assets to add an OF, 2B, & RH setup man, which means we need to start thinking outside of the box where possible.

They can’t do that (this year)...imagine the blowback if he got hurt yet again.

Beckham and Hernandez are next after Leury/Mendick, but more likely someone like Schoop or E.Escobar.

You don't have to win the world series for this to be a successful season. You know what could do long term damage?  Blowing up a team that is 4 games in 1st place in a weak assed division.

but........there.......was.........that.........white flag trade.....still hard to forget

Blowback from who?

Agents, other teams’ front offices in FA negotiations (that we don’t protect our players well after Schneider)...even if he could do a Muncy, he certainly needs more than two months in the minors after basically three years off.  Charlotte numbers are always misleading.   I would be more impressed by 775-800 ops at Birmingham.  Overall pitching stuff much more major league level in terms of dominant fastballs vs. command/control journeyman types hanging on for a last opportunity.

Imagine believing that waving the white flag while up four games in a bad division, with the best rotation in baseball, was a good idea. Imagine this. Especially with Robert and Jimenez on schedule to return in August...

Give your fucking head a shake.

If I'm Hahn, I'm not trading for any rentals. Any acquisition would have to have 3+ years of control. A smart FO would spend the next 4 weeks negotiating with Lynn/Rodon and if they can't reach an agreement with either, then move them. Let the chips fall where they may. This season is cursed and not meant to be.

The Sox have no depth whatsoever and it's being exposed. Rentals would be for if they were mostly healthy.

The Sox have no depth at all yet they've suffered 3 huge injuries and are in first place and arguably the best team in baseball. Hmm
