Some things never change, no matter what the level of play. He better play LF like 20% of the time, MAX, when he returns.

Gwinnett with 5 (FIVE) unearned runs in the 9th, thanks to Eloy and Rivera errors.

He will get hurt in LF, likely at least once before year end, and will completely suck in the interim.

Eloy in LF is the definition of insanity.

Oh, I didn't know you felt that way and are even predicting injury.

Since he's been on the IL 3 times, and been injured several additional times including missing all but two at bats in the playoffs last year, it's a pretty sturdy limb to stand on.

Tony is not the only Sox employee with Life Call.

Jimenez played left field for Charlotte yesterday. I don't understand that. The rehab goal for Jimenez Isn't for him to be re-injured before returning to the Sox. He should be DH'ing only. In fact, when it's Eloy's turn to bat, he should be carried to home plate. The batboy should bring his bat. If Jimenez makes an out, he should be carried back to the dugout. If he gets a hit, he can jog to first base and have a pinch runner to replace him. He'd be done for the day. If Eloy hits a home run, he can walk around the bases. That way he'd be much less likely to trip over a base. Eloy Jimenez is a fragile asset. He should be treated like. Faberge egg.

Don’t we already have Moncada, Robert and Madrigal pretty much in bubble wrap?   Might as well add Engel, too.  That’s a lot of fragility for one lineup, not to mention Grandal.

It isn't a big leap to predict something that has already happened multiple times.

Past injury has the highest correlation to getting injured in all predictive models.

Not to say it's guaranteed bit it greatly increases the likelihood.

Sheets' walkoff last night made me think this: When Eloy is back, he is banned from participating in walkoff celebrations. He is to remain safely in the dugout.

Probably a good idea

Add Grandal and Luis Robert to the injury risk  calculus.  Robert's speed coupled with his dives and slides will hopefully be safe.  A more conservative approach on the bases and in the field should cut down on the risk.

Until one of them is literally hurt during a celebration, no.

"Robert has been sidelined by injuries to his left thumb three times, most recently jamming it on a head-first slide into second base on a stolen base attempt during an intrasquad game Saturday. Robert’s aggressiveness and speed — not to mention his power — are what make him an exciting player and the 40th-ranked prospect per MLB Pipeline."

Which is why they all started using those sliding gloves.  Next.
