I like Nick and feel terrible for him, but for 2021, he's the starter the Sox could MOST afford to lose.

I'm okay with Mendick for this year if the Sox gun for other upgrades at the deadline.

Madrigal is exactly the type of player needed in games where manufacturing runs is paramount.

This organization is stuck on homer-happy, one dimensional offenses.

Nick will be solely missed.

The team is 22nd in home runs - but has the 3rd best offense in terms of fWAR and the best run differential in the league.

They're probably the best offense in the league at manufacturing runs.

Not sure what you're talking about, as the White Sox are 22nd in HR.

Did you mean "sorely" missed? Sure, you miss any starter. But while Mendick is certainly worse, he's the same TYPE of player and he's perfectly capable of playing at a league average rate, which is all you can ask for for an injury replacement. Contrast that to other positions on the roster and you'll see instances (and potential instances) of much larger dropoffs in performance.

The Sox are one of the top offensive teams in baseball with Eloy and Robert out and you want to fire the hitting coach?

Um, wat?

Did you see that game on Monday?!?  For the record, I didn't but it sounded like the White Sox apocalypse reading some of the posts here.

This is a standard deviation offense.  There are definitely games where they all shutdown at once, but they also hit their asses off in a fair amount of games as well.

Well, considering Glasnow WAS one of the three Cy Young favorites in the AL when that game was played...
