Right. It was either the contact play or a horrible decision by Moncada. Nobody knows for certain.

If the player somehow doesn’t know the signs at that point, then the manager has gone all “Robin Ventura” level of falling asleep.

Because with the infield in, if it wasn't,  he would have waited for the ball to go through.

I’m aware of how the contact play works as opposed to what you’re supposed to do when the contact play is not on. It was most likely the contact play, but there’s a chance Yoan just decided to run.

You are calling out the manager saying Yoan somehow decided that, you just don’t realize it.

There have been some badly managed games this year, this one is in the running for 'worst of the season so far'. Know your lineup, and who is coming up. Contact play there makes zero sense, NONE.

Contact play killed it, all momentum

Jose really just had to hit a fly ball there. The 3 guys after him weren't going to hit a tough lefty like Rogers. Even if we didn't lose the runner on 3rd, the next 2 guys made no contact.

LaRussa letting Cease face Goodwin AND the call for the contact play this inning the story of this game so far.

Let’s face it. Even with Eloy out and later Robert, the Sox had enough good pitching and players to overcome Tony’s dumb ass win probability sabotaging strategery.

There aren’t enough players at this point to pick up La Russa’s absurd decisions. He really needs to go.
