Yeah, that was fun.

I wish all of Matt Thomas, Alize, and Green were taller.

I've grown really fond of Thomas as a Reddick type but the Bulls are just so loaded at the guard position that I'm not sure he's gonna find the minutes. Dude can flat out shoot the 3 ball....To steal a football term, Alize is just a ballhawk. 11 rebounds today in 17 minutes. He may struggle to defend so bigger guys though, though in today's game there aren't too too many BIGS.

You nailed it.  They need some taller defenders.  Hoping for Tony Bradley to fill the hole, but not active tonight.  I mean, when you're talking DeRozan at the 4.... he's 6'6" for pete's sake!  I hope he has a great season.  Had his heart cut out by Toronto trading him away.   They don't care, a one year rental of Kawhi won them a title.

I’m not too concerned about the size just because the tempo should help make that a trade off. Obviously, they aren’t a match for the bucks but overall I like that the bulls are more likely to be dictating the matchups

Alize with another 11 rebounds in 18 minutes. 49 minutes 31 rebounds.

I know there are guys much smaller than him, like Rus, that put up big rebound numbers, but I still get a kick out of just how good he is at from that stand point.

Still young enough to develop an offensive game too....I was meh when they signed him but he's now my favorite bench piece.

He was a handful for the MVC when he was at Missouri St

I love that the Bulls have an actual bench and camp battles going on. Other than Caruso and Green, I have no idea what Donovan's bench is going to be, but I hope Alize is on it for his rebounding.

Real intrigued by who the 15th man will be between Stanley Johnson and Matt Thomas.

I think Alize is definitely a piece for the bench.

Intrigued by the 15th man as well. It really seems like it comes down to whether you want offense or defense. Johnson is a really good defender and Thomas is a really good 3 point shooter. Johnson probably has more upside offensively that Thomas does defensively though and that might be the deciding factor.

Question, if they send Ayo to the G or D league, or whatever the "Minor leagues" is to get minutes, he can't be plucked by another team right? I think it would behoove him and the Bulls to get him the playing time.

.....

PG- Ball/Caruso

SG- Lavine/White/Jones

SF- DeRozan/Green/Brown

PF- Williams/Alize

C- Vooch/Bradley/Simonovic

There's 13 that I think are locks. I think they may wanna keep one of Cook or Oturu for #14.....Then you gotta ask if you want Ayo up on the big squad, Johnson's D, or Thomas's 3!

So with the G-League, Ayo can go get minutes there but he still takes up the 15-person roster spot. Dotson, on a 2-way contract, can be sent back and forth. My guess is both Ayo and Simonovic see time with the Windy City Bulls this year, but they're #14 and #15 on the roster. Bulls still have their second 2-way, so my guess is one of Cook or Thompson gets it, but I'd love the Bulls to take a swing at Sekou Doumbouya.

Oturu just got waived today.

Matt Thomas it is. Hope they find a way to get him some minutes. His shot is just so pretty.

Im pumped for the season. I definitely think this is a playoff time, but I'm not sure just how good they can be.

Happy for Gafford. Wish we could have kept him after Theis left, especially now that we have plenty of dudes that could send lobs to Gaff.

He'll be making a higher AAV than Wendell. Dunn's been cut. Hutch has been cut. Trying to get quality second rounders were so undervalued for so long by the previous FO. I can only think of Asik until Gafford (yes, I realize the second round is a crapshoot, but it felt like GarPax didn't take it seriously).

I think he's a victim to the garpax strategy of "throw a lot of young talent together with poor coaching and see what sticks". Even last year, there was a lot of priority put in trying to find White and Lauri's fit, and guys like Gafford and WCJ to me suffered because they are guys who as big guys can thrive earlier on a team with defined roles. Well on the bulls everyone was defining their role. I'm not sure Donovan's "prove it" strategy where he basically asked WCJ and Gafford to be the version of themselves where they would be a lead in the offense brought out the best in them, and they did pretty damn well post-bulls.

But whatever, still hopeful we find something interesting out of Troy Brown Jr.

Bulls played like absolute crap the majority of the game and still won. That's what happens wheb talent wins out. They can't do that against the good teams of course but against shitty teams like Detroit they can get away with it.

Vuc missed good shot after good shot. But man Ball and Caruso d down stretch was sweet. Wasn’t pretty but felt good to win on opening day. When was the last time that happened for the bulls.

This is the first time they've been over .500 since March 2, 2017.
