He’s a near certain HoF reliever.  He wasn’t good in a partial 2019 season after missing spring training and wasn’t good in the 1H of a shortened 2020 season in a year where nothing was normal, but has been elite since then.  You are literally overreacting to a bad 30 game stretch and it’s absolutely ridiculous.  For someone I consider to be one of the smartest posters on this board, I literally can’t fathom how you can’t connect these dots, even if I respect your view that we overpaid for him.

Prime kimbrel was not capable of a bad 30 game stretch. He was the best reliever I've ever seen in my life. The end of his red Sox tenure was always an adventure. He was still good but he wasn't that that guy anymore. The walks spiked and he became more vulnerable.

I hope he has the most dominant post season ever, and he's clearly still capable of having completely dominant stretches but it's not a shoe in anymore like it was from 2010-2017. Now he's at risk of bad stretches like other human pitchers.
