That's the tough part, his grades are almost identical to #1, yet he is #26.

For people who don't want to bother looking it up:

#1 - Roderick Arias - SS, Switch Hitter. Scouting grades: Hit: 60 | Power: 55 | Run: 55 | Arm: 55 | Field: 55 | Overall: 55

#5 - Colas, who we're all familiar with at this point.: Scouting grades: Hit: 55 | Power: 60 | Run: 55 | Arm: 55 | Field: 55 | Overall: 55

#28 - Hernandez, once again to have it in one post. Scouting grades: Hit: 60  | Power: 55 | Run: 50 | Arm: 50 | Field: 50 | Overall: 55

So he's got comparable hit and power to Arias and Colas, but lower run, arm, and field by a tick.

Yeah, exactly.  I mean if we get that, that would be incredible, but those are obviously future grades based on literally everything going 100% perfectly, but I love getting that kind of potential into the system.

In their top 30, Colas at 22yo.  Another guy is 18.  Everyone else is 16yo.  So to find these guys you are scouting and developing 13-14yo?  Like going to the little league fields and going "yep he's a major leaguer, heres 2 million"

Pretty much, yeah.  And then they try to hide them from other teams until they are 16.

I'm more excited by Hernandez than Colas.

If  the Sox want to be competitive year round like the Dodgers and Rays, then they need to invest more resources into the DR and Venezuela, instead of just focusing on older Cuban players.

His comp is Juan Soto… Not too bad.

Juan Soto was the 25th ranked player in his class FWIW

Hernandez is expected to be a bonus of $1 million FWIW

So if the pool is similar to years previous the white sox have a balance of roughly 1.6M is that enough to sign 2B Cesar Prieto if he is cleared?

Hopefully the Sox have enough $ left to lock up Cesar Prieto.  With 2B open next yr, I think he might be talented enough to make that jump.  He hit over .400 in Cuba and is left handed.  Any word on where he might be signing once he's declared a free agent?
