8/28 Chicago Cubs @ Chicago White Sox 6:10 PM CDT

When Anderson and crew opt to use the whole field and are willing to take what opposing pitchers are giving them, they are as lethal as any lineup in MLB. Conversely, when they become pull happy vs breaking ball/off-speed heavy pitchers they become pedestrian.

Eloy played like he has a hot date tonight. Timmy grounded out to the left side all four times. Just a bad effort all around.

Agreed, obviously disappointed with Lynn but much more disappointed in the lifeless, lackluster performance of our batters.

If this gets out of hand, use it as a pseudo rest day for some of these guys. It does sound like Tony’s going to sit some more starters tomorrow though.

Do all teams talk about "resting" players as much as the Sox do? We've been doing it on this board since Ozzie's Sunday lineup days. This rest thing is overrated. Play your top lineup every fricking day and give a guy a day off once every 2 weeks. Sox are a walking injury anyway no matter how much rest they get.

Eloy has been taking pitches well since he has returned from the DL. Tonight he was first pitch fastball hunting probably  based on a scouting report.

Whatever the Sox were expecting, from Mills, it did not work out well...for several guys.

Six of nine guys  in our line-up had no hits. including  TA, Grandal, Goodwin, Vaughn and Zavala

So don't single out Eloy the Cub Killer. He will be back to punish the Cubs. and Cub fans..maybe in a few hours from now.

Eloy had  two very good plays in the outfield including a ball hit to left center that some left fielders would not have tracked down.

As Benetti stated after that catch, Eloy is among the faster outfielders in the league and he showed it on that play.

Tomorrow Cease needs to pitch Wisdom a bit differently  than he has been pitched in the last two games.  Respect his power and pitch inside away from his barrel. If he walks OK but I don't think he will. I think he is probably a little swing happy now, maybe like  the Sox were tonight. or maybe Wisdom gets hit unintentionally and the Cubs start a fight. That might not be the worst thing, provided it is a typical baseball fight where no punches get thrown. It might also give the Sox and Cub fans at the game something interesting to do.

To be fair, it’s a lot easier to pitch with no pressure. That also applies to Kimbrel.

But to be fair, we saw both teams last night have big innings. So maybe there was pressure
