In a touch of Soxtalk irony, Leury is pretty much the only one who showed up to play tonight.

Irony: a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result…

nailed it

Can't disagree that wins are unlikely when Kuechel starts, but can't agree that terrible at bats and horrible defensive play doesn't matter.

The defense is bad for Kuechel because he takes forever out there. Players lose interest, we are bored and watching on TV. The Eloy one was a wet ball, can’t blame a guy for that.

He's been shit since Houston sweep.

He had a great start against Seattle in his start after that.  And a great one against the Orioles.  Also pitched very well against the As.  And some of those losses were tough luck.  To be honest, the turning point was kind of the loss against the Royals in August where he actually pitched really well.

It's one game is all I'm saying.  Better it to happen when the game isn't on the line is all.

Cause this game is already lost and we shouldn't be destroying our bullpen in the first game of the road trip just because Dallas is a bum.

This.  Let him wear it . That's what he deserves.

Last two starts are as bad as you can look against crappy teams.  The Royals looked beyond bad against Cleveland.

I swear the Royals saved all their best pitchers against us. Hernandez hadn't pitched since August 27th. On normal rest he would have pitched against Cleveland.
