The Sox are 2nd in all of major league baseball in hard hit ground balls with a runner on 1st base. They're 8th in batting average on those balls. Bear in mind, hard hit ground balls go for hits quite often.

We're also 2nd in all of MLB in ground balls with a runner on 1st base and are 6th in BA in those situations.

You live by the ground ball, you die by the ground ball.

This is something they need to fix this offseason

3rd GIDP…

Awful.  I can see not running with Grandal, but next time is feasible we must hit and run.  You can’t keep hitting into DPs with DK pitching and expect to win. Station to station baseball waiting for a homer is not going to work in a big park like a Oakland.

It's hard cause this offense is built around guys like Abreu and Eloy who hit a ton of balls right into the ground and they usually hit them hard.

We need to put runners in motion, can’t be worse than the DPs we are hitting into.  That will put the defense also in motion and open holes in the infield. If station to station baseball is not working we need to adjust.  The way we are playing if we don’t hit homers, it is tough to win.

Robert looks absolutely awful on these hits in front of him.  Head has been up his ass these two games.

He looks uncomfortable charging grounders and reaching down. Almost as if he has a bad back.
