Capn12
If we hadn't invested in that switch that allows the team to instantly be good in the postseason, I'd be worried!

We don't know if we'll have a good Rodon in October, Kimbrel sucked again so who knows when he'll ever get back to being good, and Hernandez basically cost us the game by playing horrendous defense. Hahn's deadline has been a massive failure. Nothing we've seen so far suggests that Kimbrel and Hernandez will contribute positively in October.

Tnetennba
September 20th and the team is still playing like ass. Would be really nice to see them wake the fuck up before they coast to a 1st round exit.

Capn12
This team is just a repeat of last year's Sox: a feel good story about a 'smaller payroll' team making it to the post-season, then getting removed quickly thereafter.

Trade for Escobar and bryant and Iglesias if you really wanted a reliever and it likely would have cost less than the price they paid for the three they got. Relievers are so volatile except for a couple of the best of the best in their primes. Kimbrel had already shown major regression over 4 years..he had one nice 30 inning stretch. Ill never get over the fact that we could have had Kimbrel for FREE in the off season and the cubs would have likely paid a little salary to trade him. 3 months later were trading two nice pieces and paying the bill..unreal 2 1

If Jose is at first this game, the Sox win. Right on. Even Grandal at first would have made that play. We would not have had Goodwin at bat making the last out. Kimbrel has been hurt by hitting batters and walks. Can’t afford that in late close games. Sox should also look at how the Tigers and Rangers had runners in motion against the Sox, which tonight led to the winning run. Need to do more of that.
